Privacy policy.
What we collect, how we use it, and the lines we never cross.
Effective date: 14 September 2026
1. What we collect
To run a curated dinner community we collect:
- Your application. Name, email, phone, city and postal code, business details, website and LinkedIn, your answers, and the results of our automated and human review.
- Your member profile. Photo, business name and one-liner, manifesto, business stage and revenue range, links, the tags and quiz results from onboarding, and your gender if you share it, which we use to balance tables.
- What you tell us privately. What you hope to give and get at dinners, and anything you tell us you're working through. We use it to match you.
- Dinners. RSVPs, attendance and no-shows, and the ratings and feedback you give about dinners and tablemates.
- Your activity. Notes you keep about other members, members you hide, messages and safety reports you send, your notification choices, and your Google Calendar connection if you make one.
- Payments and delivery. Stripe processes payments; we keep the shipping address for your wristband.
- Device and usage. Basic device information and how you use the site (see §8).
When you accept our Terms — at application and at checkout — we record which version you agreed to, when, and the IP address and browser (user agent) you accepted from, as proof of agreement.
2. How we use it
- Screening & matching. Applications and matching use automated processing, including AI models, to help assemble compatible tables. A human reviews membership decisions.
- Running the ritual. RSVPs, venue and guest-list reveals, talking points, and event logistics. To choose restaurants for a dinner, we favour ones near the members coming, using the postal code from each application, counted by area; restaurants and other members never see it.
- Notifications. Email, SMS, app-push, and web-push, according to the preferences you set. SMS is sent only with your consent — reply STOP to opt out at any time.
- Improving Tribecca. Aggregate, de-identified analysis of what makes tables work.
3. What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share member data with sponsors or advertisers, and we never use it for ad targeting. Sponsors reach the room through presence in the experience, not through access to the people in it.
4. What other members see
Other members can see your member profile: your name and photo, builder archetype, business name and one-liner, manifesto, business stage and revenue range, home city, professional and personal tags, website, LinkedIn and other links, entrepreneurial traits from onboarding, anything else you add to your profile, and how many tables you've shared with them. If you hide a member, or they hide you, neither of you can see the other.
Tablemates see who is at their table only after the RSVP cutoff. Venue addresses are shared only with confirmed guests, on the reveal schedule.
Never shown to other members: your application answers, what you tell us privately about what you hope to give and get or are working through, our review of your application, and the ratings and feedback you give.
5. Who processes data for us
We use service providers under contract to run Tribecca:
- Render. Hosts the app and its database.
- Clerk. Sign-in and profile photos. If you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, that provider shares your basic profile with us through Clerk.
- Stripe. Payments. You enter card details on Stripe's page; they never reach us.
- Resend. Email.
- EasyPost. Wristband shipping: your name and shipping address go to EasyPost and the carrier it books.
- Anthropic. AI assistance with application screening, matching, dinner talking points, and reviewing reports sent to our trust and safety team.
- PostHog. Product analytics and session replay, stored in the United States. See §8.
- Google Calendar. Only if you connect it. We add, update and remove your Tribecca dinners on your calendar; we don't read your other events.
Venues receive headcounts, not identities.
6. Your rights
You can edit most of your profile yourself at any time. To get a copy of your data, or to have it corrected, email hello@tribecca.co. To delete your account, email us or use “Delete my account” at the bottom of Report a Concern in the app. We reply to every request within 30 days.
Deleting your account is permanent and can't be undone. We remove your name, email, phone, photo, links and anything you wrote, and keep only an anonymous record of dinners, matches and outcomes, plus what §7 says we must keep.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct; we honor these requests for all members.
7. Retention
We keep your data while you're a member. When you leave or ask us to delete your account, we delete or de-identify it, except what we must keep: payment records for tax, records of what you agreed to, and safety reports, for as long as those purposes need.
8. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar browser storage for two things:
- Keeping the site working. Sign-in and security depend on these.
- Analytics. We use PostHog to see how people find and use Tribecca: which pages are visited, and steps like applying, onboarding, RSVPs and purchases. PostHog keeps an ID in a cookie and in your browser's storage, and we keep the campaign tags from the link that brought you here. When you're signed in, PostHog knows you by an internal ID — never your name or email — along with your home city and whether you've finished onboarding.
Session replay. While you're signed in, PostHog also records how you move through the site — clicks, scrolling and page layout — so we can find what's confusing. All text on screen, and anything you type, is hidden in these recordings. Nothing is recorded while you're signed out.
We don't use advertising cookies or pixels. If that changes, we'll update this policy first.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't load analytics or session replay in that browser. We don't respond to the older Do Not Track setting. Tracker-blocking settings and extensions usually stop PostHog too; the site works without it.
9. Age
Tribecca is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes & contact
Material changes to this policy are announced through your notification preferences before they take effect. Privacy questions: hello@tribecca.co.
